What are the qualifications
for entering the mentor program?
|
| |
- The pastor of the church needs to make the
initial contact.
- An on-site visit to the church by one of
our directors is required. The on-site visit
will consist of meeting with the church body
or church leaders to explain the commitment
of the church to the program and our commitment
to you.
- The church/church leaders must be supportive
of the program.
- The cost of the program is agreed upon in
advance.
- Upon acceptance into the program a survey
is sent to the pastor or staff to complete before
the first training conference.

| |
| Can we receive help
from the Institute even if we are not ready for
a year-long mentor commitment? |
| |
Yes.
We can provide consultations, resource materials,
and short-term training. The training is scheduled
for our mentor churches first, but there will
be dates available for speaking engagements or
limited training for your leaders. |
| |
| What size church do
you have to be to enter the mentor program? |
| |
Size
doesn't matter. What does matter is the desire
of the church to grow and reach people for Christ.
If the church leaders will not support the program
with their attendance, it is better not to get
in to the mentor-ship program. |
| |
| How much does it cost? |
| |
The
fee varies from church to church. The cost of
the fee depends on the needs of the church, the
size of the congregation, and the distance to travel.
If the distance from the church would require
airfare for the trainers to come, obviously the
cost would vary. The Institute receives an operating
budget from the church to offset some of the costs.
The director of the Institute would determine
fees. For churches within reasonable driving distance,
the cost would range from $1,200 to $3,000 for
the entire year. |

| What is a Church or
Sunday School Growth Conference? |
| |
| The Church and Sunday
School Growth Conferences are one-day events designed
to offer an overview of the steps necessary to move
your church from where it is to where God wants
it to be. They are designed to both encourage and
challenge your staff and lay leaders to set goals,
set a vision, and work as a team to bring it all
to life. Each conference lasts from 3 to 6 hours
depending on the content. |
| |
| |
| We ask that the host
church for a conference be active in enlisting at
least 2 other churches in the area or association
to participate. We also ask that you promote the
conference within your own church and surrounding
communities. In addition to providing the facility,
we ask that you also provide a team of volunteers
to assist with registration and any meals on conference
day. We create and mail promotional materials and
handle all registration through our office. |
| |
| How much do the conferences
cost? |
| |
| We work to keep the per
person cost of the conferences affordable for any
size church. The cost is typically between $15 and
$20 per person depending on the length of the conference
and meals involved. The cost to the host church
is minimal, with the registration fees covering
the majority of expenses. Any expenses to be incurred
by the host church would be worked out during the
planning stages of the conference. If your association
is interested in hosting a conference, please contact
our office for details on costs. |
| |
| Can we just have someone
come to our church to work with our lay people? |
| |
| Absolutely! We can provide
training opportunities designed to your specifications
in a variety of areas. Our office will work with
you in scheduling training sessions and then connect
you with the trainers so they can personalize the
session to your church’s needs. |
| |
| How much do these training
sessions cost? |
We do not have a set
fee for training sessions. We ask that your church
provide an honorarium for each trainer and cover
their costs for travel, including mileage and overnight
lodging if necessary.
