Mission Trip pics

The Lord blessed us with a great mission trip to Eastern Kentucky last month.  We saw three individuals pray to receive Christ!  We know many other seeds were planted too!  Here are a few picture highlights.

Appalachia Bound!

On Sunday, our team of 35 ladies and one Golden Retriever named Truth will leave on a mission trip to the Appalachian Mountain area of Eastern KY.  This will be the third year to go for several of us.  We are looking forward to catching up with old friends and making new friends.  One part of our team (including Truth) will be presenting the Gospel through puppets and music in five schools and one church.  Another part of our team will be serving at the homeless shelter while most of us will serve at various locations throughout the area.  Please pray for us as we prepare and go!  Our theme is “Exceedingly, Abundantly Above” from Ephesians 3:20!  Our God is able!

Many blessings!

Beth Moore Simulcast

Hey ladies!  I hope you are making plans to join us for our Beth Moore Simulcast on Saturday, September 10th.  If you don’t already have a ticket, you can purchase one Saturday morning.  Those purchased at the door do not include lunch but you should have plenty of time to go somewhere nearby for lunch.  The simulcast is 10:30-5:00.  Hope to see you there!

Many blessings!

A Big View of God

I recently read this devotional by Max Lucado and it really made me think.  It’s from his book Just Like Jesus

“Exactly what is worship?  I like King David’s definition. ‘Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:3 NASB).  Worship is the act of magnifying God.  Enlarging our vision of Him.  Stepping into the cockpit to see where HE sits and observe how HE works.  Of course, His size doesn’t change, but our perception of Him does.  As we draw nearer, HE seems larger.  Isn’t that what we need?  A BIG view of God?  Don’t we have BIG problems, big worries, big questions? Of course we do.  Hence we need the BIG view of God.  Worship offers that.  How can we sing ‘Holy, Holy, Holy” and not have our vision expanded?”

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.  HE was, HE is, and HE is coming.”

Serving a BIG God,

Tammy

This song is really challenging me…

Josh Wilson’s new song “I Refuse” is really challenging me so I wanted to share the lyrics here.

I REFUSE

Sometimes I
I just want to close my eyes
And act like everyone’s alright
When I know they’re not

This world needs God
But it’s easier to stand and watch
I could say a prayer and just move on
Like nothing’s wrong

But I refuse
‘Cause I don’t want to live like I don’t care
I don’t want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

I can hear the least of these
Crying out so desperately
And I know we are the hands and feet
Of You, oh God

So, if You say move
It’s time for me to follow through
And do what I was made to do
Show them who You are

‘Cause I don’t want to live like I don’t care
I don’t want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

To stand and watch the weary and lost
Cry out for help
I refuse to turn my back
And try and act like all is well

I refuse to stay unchanged
To wait another day, to die to myself
I refuse to make one more excuse

‘Cause I don’t want to live like I don’t care
I don’t want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

I refuse
I refuse

Tough stuff, isn’t it?  Would love to hear feedback!

Many blessings!
