Kevin Miller is passionate about Christ and gifted in proclaiming His Name. Through the ministry of Hebron Church, Kevin received Jesus as Lord and Savior at age 14 and accepted God's call to the ministry as a senior in high school. After graduating from Belmont University and being licensed and ordained at Hebron Baptist Church, he served at Hebron as Student Ministry Pastor for several years. Then Kevin was called to Sarasota Baptist Church in Florida where he served for several years in a variety of pastoral roles. Kevin's call back to Hebron in 2007 to serve as Executive Pastor is another example of God's power and timing in the life of Hebron Church. In 2011, he accepted the call to serve as Hebron’s Senior Pastor.
He is driven to reach the community with the love of Christ, communicating God's truth in a fresh and inspiring way. His transparent style of preaching reveals his heart for God along with a willingness to be vulnerable before the congregation. Married to Darla in 1994, father to three (one adopted) and grandfather to one, Kevin is committed to marriages and family. Quick-witted, easygoing and personable, Kevin is ready to listen and easily approachable. He is a life-long learner of God's Word and desires to grow more in Christ each day.
Influenced by a family who were committed to teaching him about Jesus, Derek came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ at age 13. God used a high school football injury followed by a severe infection to help change the focus of Derek’s dreams and begin a calling to a lifetime of serving Him in full-time ministry. Derek and his wife, Kim, met at Shorter University and were married in 1994. They now have three children.
After college, Derek served as a youth pastor at Hebron for about nine years. During this time, he completed a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2001, Derek followed the Lord's call to serve Him in Lake Placid, NY. For over nine years, he served as the pastor of Lake Placid Baptist Church, the director of North Country Ministries, and the Resort Evangelism Strategist for the Baptist Convention of New York. One ministry area was to share the good news of Jesus Christ with Olympic Winter Sports athletes. During that time, he started and led a weekly Bible study at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid and served as a chaplain at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. In 2011, Derek accepted the call to return to Hebron as Executive Pastor, where his passion for outreach and church planting is inspiring the congregation to new vision.
